50 Days of Star Wars!

A couple months ago I started a 50 day challenge to get more familiar with oil painting. Each day I painted a Star Wars character on a 5x5 inch canvas, timed out to finish #50 on the day The Force Awakens released. Stayed on track for the most part. Here are the first four. Inktober!

For Inktober I collected and scanned all of the ink drawings I have been doing in and around Pioneer Square while working there over the past year and a half. I included 4 new pages finished recently. The clock drawings being the latest. Yay!

Steamcon V

For this years Steamcon I made a gauntlet and mask.

Initial designs.

 The 2 sides of the gauntlet before paint. Crafting foam with googly eyes used for rivets.

The mask before paint. The lenses came for some cheap round spectacles, ground down to fit the various sizes of PVC pipe used for the eye holes.

 After a coat of primer.

 After some Rub n' Buff wax metallic finish applied. I darkened and toned down the shininess in some areas with black acrylic paint.

   

All of the gear I wore this year. Ray gun and blunderbuss were made for previous Steamcons.

These were fun to work on. Warm ups for an upcoming Batman themed art show.
